Commonly asked questions about Long Term Care Insurance

At this time, Long Term Care Claims cannot be filed online. Additionally, a claimant cannot access their coverage online. Please call 1-800-693-4988 to initiate your claim by talking with a Customer Service specialist who can help you better understand your policy and its coverage and get your claim started. Our Customer Service specialists are available to you 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. ET Monday through Friday.

Each policy has a wide range of benefits and requirements that must be met to initiate a claim. The general requirements for you to be eligible for coverage are needing assistance with at least two Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) for more than 90 days or having a severe cognitive impairment requiring substantial supervision. ADLs are personal care activities that may include bathing, dressing, eating, transferring, toileting and continence. If you are currently receiving or plan to receive care for these reasons, our Customer Service specialists are available to you 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. ET Monday through Friday to review your policy provisions and answer any additional questions you may have. When you have filed a claim, you will be provided with a dedicated Benefits Specialist who will work and communicate with you directly throughout the claims process.
